John Kline has served as the Director of Fine Arts for the Mesquite Independent School District since 1995. Prior to assuming this administrative position, he served as a band director in Mesquite for 22 years.  He began his teaching career as an assistant at Mesquite High School, moved to the head band director position at McDonald Middle School and then served as head band director at North Mesquite High School for 16 years where his bands were consistent UIL Sweepstakes winners. 

     Mr. Kline holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Abilene Christian University and a Master of Music Education degree from Texas A & M, Commerce. He has been the conductor of the Lakeshore Symphonic Winds since its inception in 2002.  He is a member of Texas Music Educators Association, Texas Bandmasters Association, Phi Beta Mu (honorary bandmasters fraternity) and is currently serving as the past-president of the Texas Music Administrator’s Conference.  Mr. Kline serves on numerous fine arts boards in the Dallas area and is widely sought as a clinician and judge.  His hobbies include music and magic.  He now serves as President of the Dallas Magic Club.
